Welcome to TimeFinders’ Future Planning Service
We are an award-winning and highly respected company offering practical and emotional support
to older people and their families in changing circumstances.
We at TimeFinders believe passionately that old age is something to be savoured and enjoyed, not merely endured. However, for this time of life to be as independent, happy and fulfilled as it can be takes careful planning and requires informed and practical decisions about the future. Future Planning in tranquillity is always infinitely better than having to make urgent decisions because of a crisis, but we understand that it can be very hard to face difficult decisions by yourself about where and how to live. This can be made worse if you are no longer totally confident that your voice will always be properly heard and your wishes taken seriously and respected.
- What future would you like for yourself?
- What options are available to you to bring this about?
- What challenges are you facing or likely to face?
- What help and support might you need?
All too often we are faced with these new and complex life challenges just at a moment when we’re feeling least able to meet them. Sometimes the questions are easily answered – the path ahead is clear and all that is required is a helping hand to make it happen. For many people, though, things are not so simple and the future can be uncertain and worrying, particularly for those ageing alone. This is when it is vital to have someone you can talk to and use as a “sounding-board” for your thoughts, hopes and fears, and who will help you to make real decisions about what you want and how to get it.
A TimeFinders Future Planning Report
It is very important to us that you are able to remain in control over the decisions affecting your life, and TimeFinders will help you ask the right questions and discover exactly what your options are and their likely consequences. We will then make and give you a Future Planning Report, containing our detailed conclusions and advice for you to consider and consult your professional advisers about. If you want to see how TimeFinders can help you further with our other services, then this report can also form the basis of a Proposal.
“With their specialist knowledge and compassionate approach, TimeFinders help people who are at the most vulnerable time of their lives when they are dealing with loss or drastic changes in their health to recover their confidence and to live as independently as possible.”
Stewart Stretton-Hill, solicitor with Irwin Mitchell (Later Life Specialist).
Ageing alone
TimeFinders works with many people who are without family to help them as they get older and need support. With our experience as independent Advocates, TimeFinders can support you and your Attorneys in dealing with the many agencies who need to be involved, particularly when challenges arise or a crisis hits. We will ensure that you are consulted, your voice is heard and, as far as possible, you remain in control of the decisions affecting your immediate future.
For people who are in this position, careful future planning is essential. It is very important to ensure that your physical and mental well-being is protected and that any care needs are met in accordance with your decisions. Legal and financial planning is an important part of this, and TimeFinders can refer you to specialist Legal Advice and later life Financial Advisers* if you need.
If you are ageing alone and worry about facing an uncertain future, it can be an enormous comfort to know that TimeFinders is with you all the way as your adviser, your independent advocate, and your friend (see also The Advocacy Service and Continuing Support Services)
