Welcome to TimeFinders’ Crisis Management for Older People

Whatever your situation, if you or a loved one are in a crisis the most important thing is to SEEK APPROPRIATE HELP AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. It may be that you’ve had to call the emergency services, but a crisis in life can take many different forms and TimeFinders has the experience to offer valuable support and guidance in a fast moving situation.

We are not a first responder but we are always very happy to receive your call or email. If you call outside office hours, just leave a message and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can. If your crisis has required emergency aid, remember that when the immediate situation has been stabilized and things are once more under control, there will suddenly be many things to sort out and consequences to understand.

Crises are not only medical but financial, legal, or within family relationships. They can be caused by a sudden event – a diagnosis or onset of a life-changing illness, perhaps, or an accident or stroke. Sometimes they become apparent only gradually and one day you or a loved one just find yourself unexpectedly unable to cope. The effects may be physical, or mental, or a combination of both. The incapacity might be permanent or temporary.

TimeFinders has a proven track record in acting with the urgency and speed required in a sudden crisis, offering both emotional and practical support for families as well as older people and ensuring that all the information is available so that the right decisions can be made and implemented. Our services have proved particularly valuable for those ageing alone and for families who live far away from their loved ones.

Crisis at Distance

If you are an Expat or family member living far from your elderly parents or relatives, TimeFinders can be your representative in a crisis – providing a co-ordinating intelligence to guide and support you and your loved one.

Crisis management for Older peopleMany people live highly pressurized lives and it is not always easy to persuade one’s employers to give compassionate leave or take time away from your own business or other family commitments. When a crisis strikes it can be difficult to handle from the end of a telephone and impossible to spend the time necessary, often involving multiple journeys back and forth, to get everything arranged.

As well as so many practical arrangements to take care of, it is often a deeply emotional time for you and your parent and the love and support they need from you is often lost in the stress and anxiety of just making sure that they are safe and cared for.

Ageing Alone

TimeFinders works with many people who do not have family to help them as they get older and need support. With our experience as independent Advocates, TimeFinders can support you and your Attorneys in dealing with the many agencies that often become involved when a crisis hits. We will ensure that you are consulted, your voice is heard and, as far as possible, you remain in control of the decisions affecting your immediate future. (Please also see our Continuing Support and Advocacy Services…)
